The Eagle offers dozens of plug-and-play interfaces to some of the most popular accounting systems in the industry.
Generic Interfaces
The Eagle offers dozens of plug and play interfaces to some of the most popular accounting systems in the industry. We also offer a variety of generic interfaces that allow integration to almost any accounting system.
ODBC
This interface is designed to easily connect to any database that supports 32-bit ODBC drivers. This interface requires no programming; simply map tables and fields to define how The Eagle ship screen is populated. Write-back support includes:
Freight amount – to a freight field
Shipment detail – to a note or comment field
Btrieve
This interface is specific to connecting to Pervasive or Btrieve databases. The interface is defined by mapping tables and fields to The Eagle. The Btrieve interface does not support write-back.
ADE (ASCII Data Exchange)
This interface offers real time communication via ASCII text files. With ADE, The Eagle can run as a server (called from within the financial system) or as a client (initiated from The Eagle Shipping window). This interface requires minimal programming to define which fields will populate the Shipping window and how to handle the shipping information being returned from The Eagle. ADE is useful for integrating to UNIX systems or if you require specialized write-back.
The Eagle Server
This interface is an out-of-process COM server used to process shipments under the control of a client application. Communication between The Eagle and the application occurs via XML. Programming is required to call The Eagle Server and accept the reply XML transaction. This interface is ideal for companies wishing to ship from within their application. In addition, you have total control of how and when The Eagle is called and what shipping information is made available in the client application, allowing for a highly customizable interface.
Multi-Company
The Multi-Company interface is used to connect to more than one source database (i.e. company file).
You access Financial System Setup from The Eagle's main toolbar. Select: Setup > Financial System Interface > "My Financial System". ("My Financial System" is replaced by the name of your specific financial system.)
